For the 2nd year running, the Chiltern Young Walkers are heading to Yorkshire for a weekend trip. This year we will take in the spectacular Dales and climb one of the famous Yorkshire 3 Peaks - Inglebourough. The weekend will be based in the North Yorkshire town of Skipton.

To allow for group meal bookings etc. the weekend will be limited to 14 attendees

Accommodation

Members wishing to attend this weekend trip are asked to arrange for their own accommodation. There is a variety of options in Skipton and the surrounding area.

There are also a substantial number of independent B&Bs and Inns both in the town and in the surrounding area.

Friday 27th

Arrive in the Skipton area. Option to join a group evening meal, details TBC once numbers are known (assume 19:30 hrs for planning purposes)

Saturday 28th

We will travel to Ribblehead (travel by train is possible, however be aware that return trains to Skipton run at infrequent intervals (circa 1 train every 90 minutes!). We will start our 11 mile / 17.6km hike at circa 10:30 hrs which takes in the spectacular Ingleborough Fell, Ribble Valley and world famous Ribblehead Viaduct. Target completion circa 16:30 hrs. (Cont. Overleaf) Notes: - A reasonable level of fitness will be required to complete the Saturday Hike which will have a strenuous but not technical 1200ft ascent. On completion of the Hike there will be a few hours to return to our respective accommodation. We will meet for an evening meal in Skipton. Target time circa 19:45hrs

Sunday 29th

Sunday will take in a shorter hike from the town of Skipton itself. The hike will be circa 5.5 miles / 8.8km and take in Skipton Moor, Horse Shoe Hill and the historic Leeds and Liverpool Canal. Target start time, 11:00, target finish time circa 14:00. Depending on progress etc. there may be an opportunity to have an informal cup of tea and cake prior to commencing our journeys home.
