Ramblers Walking Groups for Young Adults
Social Hiking for 20s, 30s and a bit beyond
Looking for a walking group where you actually feel at home? Young Ramblers groups are for people in their 20s, 30s and a bit beyond who enjoy getting outdoors, going on proper walks, and meeting others in the same stage of life.
Whether you’re new to hiking or already spend your weekends on the trails, these friendly, inclusive social walking groups make it easy to get out walking without it feeling awkward or formal. Walks are usually at weekends and often followed by a pub stop or social, with occasional trips away for those who fancy more of an adventure.
Chiltern Young Walkers is one of many Young Ramblers and 20s - 30s walking groups across Britain, if you're not near us you can find the closest one to you. Once you’re a Ramblers member, you can walk for free with any Ramblers group in the country, ideal if you’re looking for a friendly young adult walking group, a social hiking group, or an outdoor social group you can dip into wherever you are.
Why this page exists
It isn’t always easy to find walking groups for young adults using the main Ramblers group finder. There is no age filter, and many groups with younger members don’t include “young” in their name, making them difficult to find.
This page brings together Ramblers groups that actively attract younger walkers, making it easier to find groups where many members are in their 20s, 30s and a bit beyond. Groups are included where their membership has a significant number of people in this age range.
We believe this is the only directory bringing these Young Ramblers and younger walking groups together in one place. We review the list regularly as groups change.

National Young Ramblers Weekend
Since the creation of younger ramblers groups, members from across the country have been meeting up for a fun-filled weekend of hikes, laughs, and good times. It all started as Hikefest from 2001 until 2008. After a short break, the event returned as the National Young Ramblers Weekends, each hosted by a different local group. Now, we’re excited that Hampshire Young Walkers are gearing up to host the next one in Spring 2027. Save the date; it’s going to be a great one!
