Long Weekend in the Lake District

Join the CYW for their second weekend away of 2023 - this time to Honister Pass in the Lake District! 

We have booked a cosy YHA hostel for exclusive use from Friday - Monday (3 nights). The price of £81.37 per person includes 3 nights stay, bedding and £5 contribution towards dinner on the first night and basics such as tea, coffee and milk.

Note: there is an option to have your own room, but to avoid passing costs onto others the rate to reserve one of the three 2-bed rooms to yourself is £157.74 on a first-come-first-serve basis. Alternatively, you are welcome to book your accommodation separately and join for the walks.

You'll have the opportunity to ask questions and we will try to arrange as much lift-sharing as possible to keep transport costs down.

You will have to be a Ramblers member to join this weekend away, and members from other Ramblers groups are welcome.

  • 1 pm arrive at Honister Hause
  • 2pm short walk from Seatoller
  • 4pm check into Bunkhouse
  • Evening: Eat at Bunkhouse, board games etc

Saturday 20th May

10 am Great Gable and Kirkfell Circular Hike (return around 5pm)
BBQ and games

  • Sunday 21st May
  • 10 am Buttermere circular walk
  • Free time (optional slate mine
    visit)
  • 7p m group meal (location TBC)

Monday 22nd May

  • 10 am Check out of the bunkhouse
  • Optional short walk (route/length TBC, -5 miles)
