Calling all hikers, nature lovers, and curious readers. Join us as we explore stories of adventure, discovery, resilience, and the people and places that shape us. Our CYW Trail Tales Book Club offers a different kind of journey – one that begins with the turn of a page.
Every six weeks, we choose a book inspired by our shared love of exploring the world, whether that's through tales of epic walks and wild landscapes, thoughtful memoirs, gripping fiction, or stories of friendship, survival, and personal discovery. From coast paths and mountain trails to distant countries, mythical worlds, and even outer space, our reading list is as varied as the conversations it inspires. We announce each book and meeting date on the CYW Meetup pages with plenty of time for you to read at your own pace or listen to the audiobook while out on a walk.
Our discussions are relaxed and friendly. We usually meet in a local pub, often the Harte and Magpies between Amersham and Beconsfield and ask that everyone buy at least one drink to support the venue and for those who want to eat, the pub serves up delicious pizzas and hearty meals made with local ingredients. It's a great midweek reason to wind down, chat about what we've read, and maybe even see things from a new perspective.
