We also organise weekends away throughout the year.
Weekends away are a great opportunity to get to know other members of the group as well as to enjoy some beautiful scenery outside our regular walking range within the Chiltern Hills and Thames Valley these include everything from seaside trips to long-distance trails and mountain hikes.
Many of the trips offer tough, mountainous walking in places such as the Scottish Highlands, the Lake District, or Wales. We organise plenty of less challenging weekends as well, often within easy reach of the Chilterns, without the need to take time off work – examples include the Cotswolds and the South Downs.
Most weekends away are accessible to anyone who is comfortable walking in the Chilterns, but in more exposed terrain more experience and equipment may be needed. Good waterproofs, an extra warm layer or two and stout boots are always important but become essential in these areas. If in doubt contact the leader, and please make sure you follow their advice.
